Tis the season of warm weather, cool beers, and (of course) awesome outdoor beerfests! Though there already have been a stellar selection of fests this year, there are still many more fests coming along. Today I’m going to take a look at two upcoming beerfests that should go along way to make your summer a bit more exciting!
First up, on July 18th, Warsaw Park (located in Ansonia, CT) will play host to the first annual Freedom Fest Craft Beer Festival! This festival will boast over 70 different breweries, six food trucks, and a bunch of specialty vendors and live music on site. Proceeds from this event are going to support the Wounded Warrior Project, and the event itself is being organised by Valiant in the Valley, Inc, which is a non-profit that seeks to host events that are beneficial to the overall community. As the event is taking place in a picturesque park and presenting a wide variety of tasty beers, I’d say this event will benefit not only a great cause, but also your taste-buds and personal well being! Tickets for this event are available on the Freedom Beer Fest website.
The other event that should be sure to please is the Eli Cannon’s Charity Beer Fest, which kicks off August 3rd. Every year that Eli’s has held their beer fest its gotten nothing but bigger and better, and this year is looking to keep that momentum going. Featuring over 60 breweries, 4 food trucks, and a host of specialty vendors, this year the beerfest will benefit the Middlesex Coalition for Housing and Homelssness. Despite being in my backyard, the Eli Cannon’s fest is one that I look forward to every year. Packed with vendors (and people) this is fest is massive in terms of beer per square foot, with you having to only step once or twice to be offered another sample from another great brewery. Tickets are available online, be sure to act fast as the event did sell out last year!
I will try to stay on top of updating you all on of the big fests and smaller gems that are coming down the line this year. Check out the CT Beer Trail for MANY more events, and then follow me here on Blogger, and on Twitter and Facebook for up-to-date beer news, trends, and information!
